The Knock-Knock Method
The Knock-Knock Method was created in 1954 by Jeannine Manuel, founder of École Jeannine Manuel, to support young children learning English.
Playful and imaginative, the method aims to keep learners engaged and motivated.
It is an interactive, immersive approach using audiovisual tools, storytelling, and age-appropriate activities.
Now a core area of expertise at École Jeannine Manuel, the Knock-Knock Method continues to be taught in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classes throughout primary school.
More than a teaching method, it helps build English as a living language and forms one of the foundations of the school’s bilingual education.

A few words from our Pedagogical Coordinator
“For decades, students have flourished using Jeannine Manuel’s unique Knock Knock method.
In my own classroom, I’ve seen firsthand how this audio-visual program helps even the most hesitant beginners find their voice.
By combining intentional repetition with a focus on communication, we bring language to life through comical stories following four main characters, interactive language games, and practical vocabulary that builds real confidence in our students.“
— Justine Saury | Pedagogical Coordinator for Knock-Knock Workshops
